Helpers, Sites Needed for AIDS/HIV Meals Program

Community Servings, Greater Boston's only free, hot home-delivered meals program for individuals ill with HIV/AIDS, is looking for community and faith-based organizations to support its new Neighbor-to-Neighbor initiative. The initiative establishes meal distribution centers within the community, from which volunteers deliver meals to clients in their own neighborhoods. Family Shelter Volunteers Needed

The Horizons for Homeless Children is recruiting volunteers to spend time as playspace activity leaders for children in shelters for homeless families or survivors of domestic violence. Women's Shelter Asks for Hotline Volunteers

The domestic violence shelter Casa Myrna Vazquez is looking for dedicated and compassionate volunteers to help answer its statewide, 24-hour hotline, SafeLink. Extensive training provided. Women's Lunch Place Needs Volunteers 

The Women's Lunch Place, a daytime shelter for homeless women and children, is looking for volunteers to help in the kitchen, work with the women or provide administrative help. The shelter, which serves breakfast and lunch,  is located at 67 Newbury Street. For information call 617 267-1722.

Visitors with Dogs Needed for Elderly

The PetPals Program of MATCH-UP Interfaith Volunteers needs volunteers with dogs to visit nursing home residents in the Boston area for 2 to 4 hours a month for six months. Training and assessment held in March. For information or an application, call Ellen at 617/482-1510 ext. 29.
